I think... I pulled into a Nissan dealership in my '91 NA for an oil change. After I handed over the keys, I sat down in the waiting room. A salesman came up to me and started asking me how I liked my Z. I told him I loved it. He asked me if I would like to take the 350 for a test drive. (Ummmmm... okay!). He pulled the burnt orange (track model) out and I drove off the lot. My impressions... 1. Looks: Don't like the looks as much as the '90-'96. Thought it would grow more on me... but hasn't yet (and unless some really cool body kits come out... probably won't). 2. Handling: Very precise. Steering is very responsive. Chasis feels very tight. Corners flat. Shifts smoothly... I like the feel of the shifter better. The whole car feels better balanced and tighter. Very nice! 3. Performance: Sluggish. My humble NA (albeit with performance mods) is noticeably faster. I was disappointed. 4. Other: Clutch felt too soft. Interior looks cheap (plastic). Cupholder is placed too far rearward... you have to reach back to use it. No T-tops. Seats are nice! Overall impression... I was glad when I got back in my '91. I think, however, that the aftermarket will be friendly to the 350... and it definitely has the potential to be a better car all around (but still have to get around the styling... which hasn't grown on me). Trading a twin turbo for an NA 350? NO WAY! Put your money into more performance mods for your TT. Just my two cents.
